Everything you need to know about our services at Ambush Security Systems

  • Can you fit equipment that I supply?

    No, to ensure quality, at Ambush Security Systems, we supply all the equipment we install.

  • Can you service an alarm system you didn't install?

    Yes, however it depends on the make/model of the system you have. Our engineers are trained with certain systems. Contact us with as much information about the system and we will be happy to help where we can. 

  • Do you provide a keyholding service?

    No, this isn't something we are able to provide but we can point you in the direction of a few good companies if required.

  • Do you install wireless CCTV?

    Not yet, at the moment we don't feel the technology is reliable enough. Maybe one day, but for now we install wired CCTV systems and aim to hide as many cables as possible.

  • What is your lead time for installation?

    Here at Ambush, we normally work the diary about two weeks in advance, but there is always a possibility for a sooner appointment. 

  • What are the common environmental causes of an alarm activation?

    Lots of things can trigger an alarm to activate including balloons, open windows, hanging decorations and insects such as spiders crawling over the lens. We even had a grasshopper land on the sensor in our office causing the alarm to activate!

  • Will the system be rented?

    No absolutely not. Once the installation invoice has been settled you own the system in its entirety. The parts come with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty and we offer a service and support contract for maintenance and out of hours assistance ongoing.

  • Do you offer PIRs with cameras in?

    This isn't something we get involved with yet. Although we can see the benefits we feel on a personal level that it leaves you vulnerable. Until the technology has proven to safeguard our clients we have decided to stay with the traditional PIRs. 

  • Why should I choose you over other installers?

    As a small family run business, customer satisfaction is paramount to us, and we believe in providing a personal service. We take pride in the quality of our work and the standards that we keep which is reflected in the feedback we receive from our customers.

  • How do I know your sales team will know what is best for my home?

    All of our surveyors have spent many years as engineers before taking the step into sales, this gives them the technical knowledge required to correctly quote for the best system for you.

  • Can I have an alarm system if I have a pet?

    Yes of course, the solutions available differ depending on the type of pet. For small dogs and cats we can install pet tolerant detectors and for bigger dogs we would recommend perimeter protection.

  • How do I know your staff are trustworthy?

    All our staff have been vetted according to NSI regulation, this includes a criminal record check, work history and personal references. Visit our 'meet the team' page to find out more about our staff at Ambush.

  • Do you fit a bell on the outside of the house?

    Yes, we install a live bell on the front of the property and a dummy bell on the rear.
